Information About the Game

Majora's Mask is the sequel to Nintendo's Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64 platform. This is Link's interconnected adventures retrieving the Majora's Mask from Skull Kid that started after Link's adventure in Hyrule to search for a friend and when Link met Skull Kid.

Primer Introductory Adventure

It was raining when Tatl and Tael found Skull Kid under a shade. He was shaking in cold. The two fairies cheered Skull Kid and they became good friends. They spent happy times together playing under the sun. But one day, Skull Kid robbed the Mask Salesman of his Majora's Mask. After wearing the mask, its dark power turned Skull Kid evil and he started upsetting things. On Link's way finding Navi, he met Skull Kid. Skull Kid robbed his Ocarina and he also took Epona. Link followed Skull Kid until Skull Kid cursed him into a Deku. Tatl separated from Tael and she teamed with Link to find her brother and Skull Kid. Link met the Mask Salesman inside the Clock Tower. He promised Link that he would heal him when he get his Ocarina back and in return, he wanted Link to retrieved him his Majora's Mask. He is a busy man so he will leave the town in three days. Tatl suggested that they visit the Great Fairy for help but her body was shattered into pieces. Link found the stray fairy that completes the body of the Great Fairy and he was rewarded a magic power. The fairy directed Link to Shikashi, the astronomer in the Astral Observatory.

Link had to play with the Bombers to know the secret code to their hideout that leads to the observatory. There Link meet Shikashi. Skull Kid also became a member of the Bombers and he came in the observatory earlier than Link. Shikashi let Link use the telescope to find Skull Kid's location. Link found him on top of the Clock Tower. The moon cried. It cried because it was falling. Its cry makes a precious stone called the Moon's Tear. Its teardrop fell outside the observatory. Link went out to get it. In South Clock Town, Link found a Deku Flower he can use to reach the roof of the Clock Tower where he found Skull Kid. So, he traded the Moon's Tear to the Deku Scrub who owns the spot with the flower. He received the Land Title Deed with the flower in exchange. The Clock Tower's roof only opens during midnight when the Carnival of Time is celebrated. Link waited until midnight of the final day and he used the flower to reach the roof of the Clock Tower. Link attacked Skull Kid with his Bubble Blast and Skull Kid dropped his Ocarina.

After getting the instrument, Link remembered Pincess Zelda, the princess he met in Hyrule who gave him the Ocarina. He played the melody that Princess Zelda taught him, the Song of Time. It took Link back on day 1. With his Ocarina back, the Mask Salesman cured him and he returned back to his normal form. With his instrument, three days will be enough to retrieve Majora's Mask and return everything to normal.

Transformation Masks of Might and Magic

There are a total of 20 normal masks that you can acquire in the game and it is up to you to get all of them plus three masks that can alter your form. The most powerful mask is only received when you get all the 20 normal masks. This is the Fierce Deity Mask that transforms Link into his adult and most powerful form. That makes up 24 masks. Getting all the masks means you get a very good ending except the Deku Butler's tale. The three useful masks turn Link into a Deku Scrub, a Goron, and a Zora. There are moves that one form can or cannot perform. By having this special transforming ability, Link can reach farther places, carry heavier objects and dive deeper down the water. Each form you can transform and the other 21 masks have their own functions.

Deku Form Goron Form Zora Form

TIP:

When in Ikana Canyon, the Gibdos and ReDeads will not hurt you if you are wearing the Deku or Goron Mask.
Nemesis About Enemies

Enemies are abundant in the game and you don't only kill them. Stalchilds and Garo Robes give you information that would help you in your quests. Chuchus and Octorocks can serve as a bridge you can cross over to reach areas. By killing enemies, locked doors are unlocked, hidden items appear, and you earn several rewards like Pieces of Heart and Rupees. By defeating the temple bosses, Link acquires their remains together with a Heart Container.

TIP:

Shoot the Blue Bubbles during nighttime in Ikana Canyon and the Like Likes in Great Bay at any time of day with a Light Arrow. They'll drop Purple Rupees!

The final boss is Majora and you battle him in his three forms; Majoras Mask, Majora's Incarnation, and Majora's Wrath. The battle will be difficult but with the Fierce Deity Mask in possession, it will be easier.

Money Currency and Link's Wallets

Rupee is the game's currency. You earn it by chopping bushes, breaking jars, killing enemies, selling items, finding treasure chests, and helping people in need. The types of Rupees you can fill your pocket are determine through their colors. Green rupee is worth one rupee, Blue – 5 rupees, Red – 20 Rupees, Purple – 50 Rupees, Silver – 100 Rupees and a Huge Rupee worth 200 rupees. Green, Blue and Red rupees are easily earned through ways mentioned above. Rupees replace important items found from chests like dungeon maps and compasses. Purple Rupees are earned in the mini-games or by shooting specific enemies with a light arrow like the Like Likes in Great Bay. Silver Rupees are found in chests, find some in Clock Town. The Zora Game Site supposedly gives you 100 rupees but they'll deduct 10 rupees for the replacement of their jars. You also get four Silver Rupees in the secret shrine located behind the waterfall in the canyon by defeating the enemies in the rooms.

The Huge Rupee is earned by trading all the Title Deeds. You can kill the Takkuri flying over the entrance to Milk Road. It drops a Huge Rupee. You also earn 200 Rupees by selling Gold Dust, Big Poe and Chateau Romani in the Curiosity Shop.

Link's first wallet can only hold up to 99 rupees. By depositing up to 500 rupees in the bank in West Clock Town, you receive an Adult Wallet. This can store up to 200 rupees. You can deposit over 5000 rupees in the bank. The biggest wallet you can acquire is the Giant Wallet. You can get this by killing all the Gold Skulltulas and taking all their spirits in the Oceanside Spider House on the first day. The Giant Wallet could carry up to 500 rupees. This comes handy when you have to buy potions and other expensive items like the Biggest Bomb Bag you can also get by having the Adult Wallet, the Chateau Romani that costs 200 rupees, when the Smiths forge your sword that costs 100 rupees, Powder Kegs sold in Goron Village worth 100 rupees, the Blue Potion sold by a Deku Scrub in the canyon also worth 100 rupees, buying a Piece of Heart from a Deku worth 150 rupees, and the All-Night Mask worth 500 rupees sold in the Curiosity Shop.

All About Health Life Energy and Magic Power

You do not get experience points and level up like most of the role playing games by killing enemies; instead, you can get hearts from them that will refill your life energy. You can extend your life by finding Pieces of Heart and assembling four to make a Heart Container that adds one heart to your heart meter. You can also get four Heart Containers by defeating the four temple bosses. You can enhance your life energy by taking all the Stray Fairies you find in Great Bay Temple to the Fairy's Fountain found in the Zora Cape. You then receive half damage from enemies. Life energy can be replenished by drinking red and blue potions. Catch fairies with a bottle and they'll revive you if you die. They also replenish your life. Drinking milk also heals your life. Touching hearts dropped by enemies and breaking jars or boxes replenish one of your empty hearts. Drinking Poes you catch with a bottle can also give you life.

The Great Fairy of Magic granted you the magic power when you are in your Deku form. You ca refill your magic power through magic jars. There are two kinds of magic jars in the game. The smaller ones replenish a small amount of your magic power and the bigger ones replenish more magic power. Various moves that use your magic are: your enhanced Spin Attack in your normal form, Bubble Blast in your Deku form, rolling with spikes in your Goron form, the shield in your Zora form, when using the Lens of Truth, when wearing the Fierce Deity and the Giant's Masks, and when using the fire, ice and light arrows. Your magic power can be extended by helping the Great Fairy in Snowhead Temple. Drinking the Chateau Romani gives you endless magic power.

The Melodies The Songs and Other Songs

There are 10 useful songs that you will learn from various people or creatures. These are the Song of Time, Song of Healing, Epona's Song, Song of Soaring, Song of Storms, Sonata of Awakening, Goron Lullaby, New Wave Bossa Nova, Elegy of Emptiness and the Oath to Order. There are other 6 songs that you also play with your instrument. These are the Inverted Song of Time, Song of Double Time, Scarecrow's Calling Song, Lullaby Intro before you learn the Goron Lullaby, the Jam Session of Japas and Mikau, and the Ballad of the Wind Fish. Each song has their use. The Song of Time makes you save your progress. The Inverted Song of Time slows down time while the Song of Double Time makes time pass. The Song of Healing can cure sadness. Epona's song is played to call Epona so you ride on your horse. The Song of Soaring sends you to areas with owl stone statues. The Song of Storms can cure curses and water Magic Beans. The Sonata of Awakening wakes someone up.

The Goron Lullaby makes Gorons sleep and this is needed to stop the blizzard caused by a Biggoron in Snowhead. The New Wave Bossa Nova cures Lulu's voice. The Elegy of Emptiness leaves shells of your forms that can be used to press on switches. The Oath to Order summons the giants to stop the moon from falling. The Scarecrow's Calling Song calls a scarecrow on areas that you can never reach unless you have the hookshot. The Lullaby Intro hushed the Goron Elder's son to sleep. By playing all the notes from the jam session of Japas and Mikau to Evan, you are rewarded a Piece of Heart. And the Ballad of the Wind Fish you played in your four forms inside the Milk Bar, Latte where you receive the Circus Leader's Mask.

Haka-hakas What do you think?

Haka-hakas are your own opinions or perception about something related in the game. You can read more Haka-haka's when you download the guide.

Examples:

  • The crack in the Knife Chamber room of Stock Pot Inn was done by an admirer of Anju. He is found in South Clock Town in front of a poster. He made a hole on the wall so he can peek on Anju's room.

  • The person staying in the toilet of Stock Pot Inn is actually Tortus, the father of Anju. He became crazy after a terrible accident. The emotional connection to his mother's books became his favorite food, paper.

  • The paper-airplane found on top of one of the pillars in Ikana Castle was played by Pamela when she once entered the castle.

If you have your own Haka-hakas, post them down the comment box. If they're good enough, I will add them on the guide.

Fridge Games' Dwight's Jump, Fall, and Slide System
By Dwight Delleva
Created using RPG Maker XP

This system is based on the SNES game the Secret of Evermore. This is my own rendition. When the character touches a geyser spot, the water bursts out making the character jump and reach up a higher location. To get back down, you just enter a cave or stand over a hole spot then fall down. Your heroes no longer just climb a ladder, walk or run. This system just uses the jump command. If you have ideas but can't put it into map, you can send requests to my email address: undwight at yahoo dot com.
